Today's Post Is Brought To You By The Letter "B"

As in, "busgusting."
bus·gust·ing

causing busgust; offensive to Malia's physical, moral, or aesthetic taste.
[Origin: 2008;
BUSgust + -ing2]
—Related forms
bus·gust·ing·ly, adjective
bus·gust·ing·ness, noun
—Synonyms loathsome, sickening, nauseous, repulsive, revolting, repugnant, abhorrent, detestable.
This word was discovered by the Arnall family a few nights ago, while Daniel was checking my ear. Mikela & Malia came over to check the situation out, and asked if they could touch it (I've been very protective of it as it heals, naturally.). I okayed them to do that, and sat very still as their tiny little fingers reached gingerly for my ear. I have very little feeling at the surgery site (pressure only), so how did I know the deed was done? I heard these loving words:

After which Malia proceeded to grab the nearest towel and wipe her little fingers "clean," while repeating this mantra over and over.

Oh, the pride I felt. (I'm kidding, sort of.)

In all honesty, my biggest fear has been my children's fear of this change (of which they have exhibited almost none). So, while Malia was appropriately reprimanded for being rude and on the verge of hurting Mommy's feelings ("I'm so sorry, Mama....but it is busgusting."), I was secretly relieved/amused by this latest contribution to the English language.

And, no; I don't know where she got it from.

That is so funny and completely believable....kids are so hilarious! I'm just like a kid sometimes myself and make up cool words because they sound fun....and believable! Thanks for your comments!
